He enjoyed the train ride down immensely. It was his first time, and so exciting, that he spent nearly the whole trip with his nose pressed to the glass. Theo laughed at him gently, and then returned to his book. He read like a hungry man eats, sinking gratefully into the books as though they would keep him alive.

They had packed a lot, and Oliver was as excited as he could remember being in some time. A large home — a bed for himself — and the countryside!

He'd never been to the countryside. The closest he'd come was to the park in the middle of the city, which he liked a lot. But it wasn't somewhere he could stay: the police moved people along pretty sharp if they tried to overstay their welcome there, especially if they weren't very well attired. And he never was. Although, rested, fed, and in clean clothes, he felt very respectable indeed as they got off the train at the quaint little station.

He carried most of the bags, feeling it was only fair. He gave Theo a happy, excited smile, feeling whimsical and alive, and Theo smiled back helplessly.

He had such a gentle way about him. Surely he would be nice in bed — surely. Not rough or demanding or selfish. No, he'd be as nice as his smiles…

Maybe.

They walked; it was only a mile from the station, but he got rather hot carrying so much and had to stop several times, even when Theo took half the bags.

"I shouldn't have packed so many books," Theo grunted, making a face. "I should've known better."

Oliver could hardly complain; Theo not knowing better was one of the things that had given him this life. For however long it lasted.
